Health care reform
Today I heard a radio show that indicated that there is nothing wrong with our current health care system. No matter what people think of some of the current proposals, to think that there is nothing wrong with our system is, in my opinion, to live with one's head in the proverbial sand. We have serious problems--with cost, with access, with issues related to personal responsibility, with liability. Until we admit that, nothing will change. And change is desperately needed. Too many people are going bankrupt because of health care expenses. Too many are being denied coverage. All of us are having to pay too much of our income to address health care matters.

Re: Health care reform

Perhaps poet Robert Burns said it in a nutshell many years ago: " Man's inhumanity to man,
          Makes countless thousands mourn."

Re: Health care reform

This question kind of ties into the belief vs knowledge study.  In my mind the "healthcare reform issue" boils down to a matter of morality.  Are we not our brothers keepers.  For me the overwhelming response is YES!!!  Once the country starts believing that, I think the economics, logistics and the liability issues will take care of themselves.  If this measure passes, I predict in 20 years it will be so popular it will make the sacred cow of Medicare and Social Security look puny by comparison.
