Grasping brings less
Listen to the wisdom of Parker Palmer: "grasping brings less, and letting go brings more."  Sounds like the teaching of Jesus.  How can you live within that wisdom?

Grasping brings less

I believe Parker Palmer is right on and this is wisdom to live by.  Grasping and trying to hold on to more always seems to not only create more anxiety in a person's life, but also make people feel as though they never have enough.  My observation is that grasping makes people always want more, never feel satisfied  and never feel secure.  When one lives in this manner, it is extremely difficult to live out of a place of gratitude, and it is very difficult to just receive life as gift.  Only when a person is able to let go, is one able to receive the gift that life brings.

Grasping

When you let go of something, you create a space in your life
(physical, mental, or emotional).  You have more peace and less stress.

Re: Grasping brings less

Why do human beings grasp so much and so often, what is the core reason? How does one stop the grasping in life, and what should replace it? How to deal with other members in the household who see no problem with grasping? You ask how to live within that wisdom, I wonder how to truly obtain the wisdom.

Re: Grasping brings less

What replaces grasping is receiving--receiving the gift that life is.  I suppose the question is not simply about living with others in our household but the others who permeate this culture.  This is a culture of grasping--frantic grasping.  There is no rest in that.
